a house of order...

okay, i'm posting my "discipline is organized love" folder from my computer. i know they're silly, but they work GREAT around here...we switch programs every couple weeks or so.
1. movie tickets: the kids earn tickets (i bought a roll of stubs at office max)by being good, get them taken away when misbehaving...i put them into little envelopes taped to the fridge. they can choose to spend them however they want.
2. ladder: we tape this onto the fridge, let the kids choose a color of shoes to be, glue that onto a magnet, and their behavior dictates which level they're on. the list of each level's respective privileges are taped up beside the ladder. (i.e. if they're on level 3, they enjoy that level PLUS all preceding levels' privileges, etc.)
3. rock jars: there's no printouts for this. just put out a small jar/cup for each child. add rocks/marbles/jellybeans/whatever when you notice good behavior & quietly take them out when you notice bad behavior. when they reach the top, they get to go on a date with mom/dad.
4. sweet&sour jars(another version of the rock jars): choose 2 colors of "rocks". one represents sweet behavior, one sour. put them in accordingly. at the end of a week, count them up. if more sweet, then they get a treat. if more sour, they need another week to keep practicing sweet behavior. (we usually kick this one off with a sweet&sour family night -- let them sample sweet things and sour things as they pertain to examples of sweet & sour behavior in the lesson/activity)
5. chore chart: they choose one of these each morning
6. help wanted: they can choose as many of these as they want whenever they want to earn quarters.

it wouldn't post.
anyone who's interested in the printouts, comment on this and i'll email them to you.

Margie Horne reward for good behavior at church:
Buy those long ropes of licorice; put each kid's name on top (in a classroom/home setting)
Tell the kids that they can have the licorice at the end of class (Sacrament, FHE, week, whatever) Each time the child misbehaves cut a bit off of the rope. It's a good visual to see the results of good behavior.
