Sundance Film Festival! Hurrah!

This last weekend I went with a few friends up to Park City to have a little fun at the Sundance Film Festival. One of my mission companions (Denice) has a friend who owns a bar called Sidecar on Main St in Park City. Sundance is a really busy time for them, so she went up to help him out. Of course, having a friend working Sundance is a nice perk, so I got together a few friends and went up to enjoy it. Me, Heber (an elder from my mission), Karen (Sister Larsen's roommate), Matt Wolf, Stuart Faught, Cameron Neilsen, Rob Congelliere, and two other guys made quite a group. I know you're doing the math, and yes, that is 7 guys and 2 girls.
Denice let us into the bar before it opened and we got tables right up in front for the comedy group that was performing. We got VIP gifts and everything, so that was pretty cool. Then we left to go eat at Bandits. There was 1 1/2 hour wait, so we put our name in and walked up and down Main Street looking for celebrities and trying to stay warm. We saw a few people worth mentioning: Professor Snape (from Harry Potter), Wilmer (from That 70s Show), AJ (from the Backstreet Boys), and a few E! shows/interviews being filmed. It was fun. Bandits was delicious. Then we went back up to Sidecar for some music and dancing. There was a 12 peice funk band playing. It was a pretty jazzy group: all in white tuxes, lots of horns, and a TON of energy. Denice let us all in through the backdoor so we didn't have to pay $40/each to get in. We had a lot of fun dancing and then talking to random people we met out on the balcony overlooking Main Street. All in all, it was a really fun night. I'm glad we went. Thanks Denice!
